The Competition
The project was meant as a submission for Darkside's competition to design an engaging vehicle body that align with their light-weight and high performance philosophy.
To keep in-line with it, the design focused to mimic the ocean inhabitants, designed by evolution to slice through dense fluids.
It does this by styling visual and functional elements based on features of such creatures.
Human and Machine
The creature is brought to life by the driver who drives it. The driving experience thus, had to feel as an extension of the body, providing mechanical input and receiving mechanical feedback.
The Designing Experience
It is not usual that one gets to participate in a competition to design a vehicle that would actually come to production. Mine wasn’t the winning entry nor, was it featured by the judge, Frank Stephenson, the process was a learning experience and a guide to further developing and deciding my career path.
