The Smart Man
A Critique of Self and Society
BFA Graduation Project
The project developed as a result of an assignment to reinterpret works by existing artists. The process resulted in developing a methods, based on semiotics, to effectively communicate meaning using images.
The Smart Man is a body of work developed as a result of this process. The works criticize the contemporary lifestyle as a result of the rapid mass adoption of smart phones. It focuses its criticism towards the consumer for being irresponsible/mindless in its use of these devices.
